And one nation under God.

So I was driving the other day and was sitting at a red light. I noticed the car in front of me had a cover around the license that read "Gods opinion is all that matters".  I don't want to say that this bothered me, because I know everyone has there own views on life and that's totally fine. But I guess I don't understand why it has to be 'Gods opinion' that matters most. Why cant our own opinion be the only opinion that matters to us? That's how i see it, I mean I can't really see myself living my life the way a book tells me to live, that was written by a being that I don't even know exists. I think it is what I think is right and wrong... my own opinion. This is where I get lost in Christianity, so many people have different interpretations of God. For example I know of Christians who believe in gay marriage, but I also know other Christians that believe gay marriage is 'sinful'. So that just makes me want to ask the question... how can Gods opinion only matter when there are so many people who view 'God' differently? I just seem to find that all a bit ironic.

Oh Religion, you're just a little to out there for me.

Ramble ramble ramble.

So it looks as though i haven't posted something new on this since January 4th? Wow. I don't know if thats out of pure laziness or that I just really haven't had much to say. I would have to say that maybe my new job is keeping me away from this... which is unfortunate.

But these last few weeks, nothing really significant has happened. I am at pierce now and I am happy to say that I am enjoying it. I go right from school to work at twelve, and get home at eight then I do my homework, and after that I call it a day. So basically my days fly by. And now my weeks are going by really fast... I am so use to not having my days go by so fast, and I am kinda liking it. The first half of the week I have my days off, and those three days off a week have made me Realize how much I enjoy free time now. It's awesome. So thats just kinda my school and work situation at the moment.

Oh and I am going to apologize right now for not really being subscribed to everyone's blogs who are subscribed to me. I am going to get around to it I promise.

The other day Ann Coulter was on the view. Yes I was watching the view, okay? Just because Coulter was on. Anyways watching her on the show just made me just even hate this bitch even more. For the record I am not a sexist, but this women is a mega bitch. Just the things that come out of her mouth give me a migraine. People often ask why watch those kind of people if I dislike them so much. Well to tell you the truth, sometimes I enjoy listening to conservative right-winged reasoning... for a good laugh.

Last week I attended my sisters basketball game, and It was her one night game of the season. So in the beginning they had us do the pledge of allegiance. And when we started to recite the lines, I found myself not saying the lines, rather i was taking a moment to listen and watch everyone do it. I don't want to say weird but, after experiencing that I cant help myself but think it's a little odd that we all stand up, put our right hand on our heart, and recite lines about our pledge to the country(And looking at the flag while doing this). Maybe I'm just over analyzing the situation. After hearing everyone in that monotone speech was just kinda... weird though.

I think i'll stop for now.

Top Five albums.

I don't feel like writing a lot, so I am just going to compose a list of the five best albums that
I have listened to this year... Or I should say in '08.

So here it is:

  1. Autumn of the Seraphs by Pinback. Honestly the best album i've ever listened too. It's a quick album, but every song is good. I really have no idea why theses guys aren't more heard of, they make such amazing music it is ridiculous. I can confidentially say they are unique, there is no other band that I compare that sounds like them. please check these guys out.
  2. In Rainbows by Radiohead. It's Radiohead... not much more I really need to say. This album will literally hypnotize you. You'll feel like you're underwater in one of the songs. Thom Yorke, you're truly a musical genius. And are probably one of the best musicians we have in our time. (Technically this album came out Dec. 28 2007, but I really don't care)
  3. Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes. When I listen to this album I feel like I should be living up in the mountains. Nice melodies and Peaceful instrumentals. It'll just put you in a great mood.
  4. Attack & Release by The Back Keys. God I love this band, It is just straight up good 'ole rock and roll. Turn them up loud and just have a good time.
  5. Oracular Spectacular by MGMT. Okay i wasn't sure about making these guys my number five, but I gotta say they're pretty different... like the only word I can think of is psychedelic. And i don't like using this word during our era because I am a huge sixties music fan. But this band is a trip none the less. I don't even like electronic(ish) type music... But MGMT is pretty cool I must admit.

Really, America?

Alright I don't want to be like the stereotypical nineteen "left-winged" year old who bashes on the country. But there are seriously some things that this country is so fixated on that it just bothers me so much. And the funny thing is, that it's not about how we are addicted to oil or how all we do is eat all the time. Which I think is true, but that's not the case in which I'm about to rant about. With this being my first official blog, I think I'll discuss some of these subjects that burn me up most.

Jesus. This country is in love with some Jesus. Right now I am surrounded by at least, lets see... Eight churches by my house. And that's not even going downtown. Why the hell is it so important? Religion is so ridiculous, I've tried to get into it for like sixteen years... And find myself just not being convinced by it. Why do we need to be so worried what happens to us when we die? Cant we just live the life we are in? And their are so many damn religions too, oh and they all think they're right too! I could do a whole post on this but I wont, I'll save it for another day.

So with this whole economy crisis going on, something I've thought of... Besides Americans need to stop living off credit. Why hasn't marijuana been legalized yet? Now before you jump on the bandwagon and go for the whole "that's a drug" card. Let me just say this; It's a damn plant... that grows out of the ground. It grows sort of like a "weed" what do you know. Have you ever heard of someone over dosing on marijuana? No. Or have you heard of a 'stoned' driver killing anyone? No. But you'll hear all these stories about alcohol poisoning and drunk drivers killing people. If this plant was legalized just think about the cash flow that would come through this country... Honestly. It works in other countries, But it's like we are to afraid to see what society would be like if you could just light up in a coffee shop. Just think, People would be getting jobs all over the place if this plant became legal. Instead of all the crime that supposedly comes with it.

I'll probably be writing about these two subjects at some point again.
